SOFTWARE & DRIVERS
Windows 10 May 2019 Update causes crashes/freezing issues on AMD Ryzen CPUs, bypass/workaround found
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/windows-10-may-2019-update-causes-crashes-freezing-issues-on-amd-ryzen-cpus-bypass-workaround-found/
It appears that the May 2019 Update for Windows 10 is causing some crashing/freezing issues on PC systems that are equipped with AMD’s Ryzen and Threadripper CPUs. According to reports, these freezing issues are due to compatibility issues between the update and RAID drivers.
Going into more details, the May 2019 Update installation freezes on these PC systems with AMD’s aforementioned processors as there’s a compatibility issue between the RAID drivers and the update.
Thankfully, a bypass/workaround has been discovered so we suggesting using it if you own an AMD Ryzen or Threadripper CPU, and want to update to the latest version of Windows 10.
All you have to do is download and install the latest RAID driver from here, version 9.2.0.105, before applying/installing the May 2019 Update.
>> I'm posting this in case someone has found this issue.

Unreal Engine’s member ‘The_Distiller’ has released a brand new cute DXR real-time ray tracing tech demo. The_Distiller has used the latest version of Unreal Engine 4, version 4.22, in order to create a playable demo that showcases the ray tracing capabilities of Epic’s engine.
For the setting The_Distiller chose a miniature film set, built by an amateur filmmaker in the 70’s, shooting a scene for a vintage sci-fi movie in the vein of “War of the Worlds” and alike.

MODS/EMULATORS
The Playstation 4 emulator, Orbital, supports the DualShock 4 controller, progresses further on Safe Mode
https://www.dsogaming.com/videotrailer-news/the-playstation-4-emulator-orbital-supports-the-dualshock-4-controller-progresses-further-on-safe-mode/
Alexandro Sanchez has shared a new video for the first Playstation 4 emulator that is currently under development, Orbital. While the emulator is nowhere close to playing or running any PS4 game, it now supports the official Sony DualShock 4 controller, and progresses further on the Safe Mode menus.
In case you weren’t aware of, Orbital is the first dedicated Playstaion 4 emulator for Windows and Linux. Advanced users can go ahead and download an old version of Orbital from here. Do note though that there aren’t any binaries, meaning that you must build each of the three components (BIOS, GRUB, QEMU) yourselves. Furthermore, configuring the emulator to do something will be hard, as you will need to dump and decrypt the entire PS4 filesystem and sflash, including the kernel.
Here are Tomb Raider 2 & Jurassic Park Trespasser with Reshade Ray Tracing/Path Tracing
https://www.dsogaming.com/videotrailer-news/here-are-tomb-raider-2-jurassic-park-trespasser-with-reshade-ray-tracing-path-tracing/
YouTube’s member ‘EiermannTelevision’ has shared two videos, showcasing Tomb Raider 2 and Jurassic Park Trespasser with the Reshade Ray Tracing/Path Tracing Global Illumination mod. Both of these games use a really old and outdated lighting system so these videos should give us an idea of what we can expect from older games using the new Reshade mod.
New trailer released for the Fallout 3 remake mod in Fallout 4, Fallout 4: Capital Wasteland
https://www.dsogaming.com/videotrailer-news/new-trailer-released-for-the-fallout-3-remake-mod-in-fallout-4-fallout-4-capital-wasteland/
The team behind a really ambitious mod for Fallout 4, Fallout 4: Capital Wasteland, has released a brand new trailer for it. Fallout 4: Capital Wasteland is a total conversion mod that aims to remake Fallout 3 in the Fallout 4 engine.
Fallout 4: Capital Wasteland promises to feature all the quests, dialogues and locations from Fallout 3, and the team will be experimenting with the newest weather options in Fallout 4’s Creation Engine to establish the same grimy and oppressive tone as the original game.
A modder is remaking Arx Fatalis in Unreal Engine 4 and it looks fantastic
https://www.pcgamer.com/a-modder-is-remaking-arx-fatalis-in-unreal-engine-4-and-it-looks-fantastic/
Arx Fatalis was Arkane Studios' first game, and was very much a sign of things to come. It was big, open, ambitious as hell, really good, and a sales flop. It's also very dated now—it was released in 2002—which makes going back to see what you missed something of a tough row to hoe. That may eventually change, though, thanks to the efforts Blackcatgame Studios, a one-man operation that recently teased a work-in-progress remake of the game in Unreal Engine 4.
The summary on ModDB describes the area seen in the videos as being from Level 11, the Human Kingdom village (although I think that's a typo since as far as I know that's on level 1), where players can wander around, talk with NPCs, and fight with guards. Obviously there's a long way to go before the job is done, and given that projects like this are typically both massive and unpaid undertakings, it may not ever be finished. But seeing that dingy settlement remade all shiny and new really kind of gets me right here.
