Yep, you solved my doubt. An update in both performance and energy efficiency is welcome too, waiting for the real new stuff, and most probably it's also the best AMD could offer Sony in time and at the right price and stable and tested enough to build the first batches for PS5 launch, but the hype used to boast it made it almost look like a bigger, but coming later novelty, like Arcturus

There is always hype before a GPU launch... I think many were expecting AMD to pull a Radeon 4870/Radeon 9700 Pro/Zen/K7/K8 moment all over again, just not happening with Navi... AMD is still reeling from the plans set in motion years and years ago before AMD made their graphics division a separate entity again.

It will be a solid GPU at it's targeted price/performance segment though, no doubt, but it's what comes next year where things really start to get interesting... And for me, exciting.
