Lets say at a minimum this is simply MS providing online services for Sony. That would make this the least surprising and least interesting relationship between MS and Sony. Because that's a big part of what MS does.

Because Sony can choose other company easly  like Amazon or google. So My point is still correct . Consumer is a king. You got the money you got the service.
