It's the game in the series that looks the least like a main Final Fantasy, but it's one of the best. The story is simple but the script is great, the battle system is amazing and I think the graphics still hold up. I'm not a big fan of the ost though. They should as well have called this Vagrant Story 2 or something. But nonetheless it's a great game. Wish they made a sequel or another game with similar gameplay.
