Thursday news, part two:
CS:GO Danger Zone gets respawns and jump boots
https://www.pcgamer.com/csgo-danger-zone-gets-respawns-and-jump-boots/
CS:GO's Danger Zone battle royale looked so dreadfully dull compared to the more flavoursome Fortnite and, later, the slick Apex Legends, that I never really gave it a shot. The new Sirocco update makes me wonder if I've been too harsh on what I thought was an also-ran battle royale contender, however, because it actually sounds like it might be quite good.

We've got a nuclear payload of Borderlands 3 gameplay footage to sink your teeth into today. Above, you'll find 105 minutes of the game in action, focused on Amara, the Siren Vault Hunter. This footage showcases everything from the the lavish, futuristic city backdrop of Meridian, to vehicle combat, your inventory system, and of course, the many guns you'll come across in the game. It's running on a PC, but unfortunately, we weren't allowed to use mouse and keyboard controls.
Borderlands 3's main story will last 30 hours 'if you beeline it'
https://www.pcgamer.com/borderlands-3-how-long/
There's going to be plenty of Borderlands 3 to sink your teeth into. At a preview event on Tuesday, our writer James played about three hours of the new looter shooter, which is a mere fraction of the full game, as it turns out. According to creative director Paul Sage, the main quest for Borderlands 3 will last for 10 times that.
"If you beeline it through, and I mean beelining it through, it might take you 30 hours to complete the main story," Sage said.
In Borderlands 3, your base is a spaceship filled with old friends
https://www.pcgamer.com/borderlands-3-sanctuary-base/
In Borderlands 2, your base of operations was Sanctuary, a city built on the remnants of a Dahl mining ship. This time around, your base of operations is called Sanctuary 3, and it's not a town built on a ship but an actual spaceship itself. In space. And you won't just be orbiting Pandora in Borderlands 3 but traveling to other planets as well, and there are lots of familiar faces along for the ride.
Discord Nitro adds LucasArts classics, including seven Star Wars games
https://www.pcgamer.com/discord-nitro-adds-lucasarts-classics-including-seven-star-wars-games/
May the fourth is known as Star Wars Day because it's a terrible pun on "May the Force," as in the thing that will hopefully "be with you" as you romp around in space waving your lightsaber around. On this year's horrible pun day, at least there's some pleasantly pun-free news. May 4th will bring nearly a dozen new LucasArts and Disney games to Discord's Nitro subscription service, including seven Star Wars classics.
Battlefield 5's vehicles are now a little less likely to kill you

Electronic Arts has made some changes to Battlefield 5's Firestorm battle royale mode that will make the WW2 death arena a little more survivable (at least in the short term—such is the nature of battle royale, after all) and a little more rewarding for players who take part in the fight.
Solve a ghostly mystery in free detective game Spooktective

The magnifying glass has, sadly, gone out of fashion in the realm of mystery solving. You never see sleuths peering at clues through the giant lenses anymore, but they're making a grand return with free detective game Spooktective, which has you squinting at ghosts, and other things, through a magical, and pretty massive magnifying glass.
Memoirs of Magic is a free fantasy RPG made in the Doom engine
https://www.pcgamer.com/memoirs-of-magic-is-a-free-fantasy-rpg-made-in-the-doom-engine/
Created in GZDoom, Memoirs of Magic is both a testament to the power of the Doom engine, and the skill of the many developers who have contorted it into all manner of unlikely things. As you might expect, Memoirs is at heart a first-person shooter where you pepper critters with bullets, magic missiles, and whack them with a variety of unusual melee weapons. But it's also a big ol' fantasy RPG, featuring seven strange character classes, reams of lore to absorb/skip through, and a diverse world, complete with NPCs, quests, boss fights and even Final Fantasy-style summon monsters to inflict on enemies.

In Vampire: The Masquerade—Bloodlines 2, you'll begin your unlife as a Thinblood with few mates, but eventually you'll be able to join one of five vampire clans, including the rebellious Brujah. They're the angry, righteous punks of the World of Darkness, and you can learn more about what their deal is in the reveal trailer above.
Path of Exile boss on crunch: 'I will not run this company that way'
https://www.pcgamer.com/path-of-exile-boss-on-crunch-i-will-not-run-this-company-that-way/
In a frank post on Reddit, Grinding Gear Games co-founder Chris Wilson wrote about the Path of Exile studio's workload, the disappointing Synthesis league and how he won't make the team crunch just to cram more improvements and fixes into a patch.
Please excuse my bad English.
