At the end of Q1 2019, Backblaze was using 104,325 hard drives to store data. For our evaluation we remove from consideration those drives that were used for testing purposes and those drive models for which we did not have at least 45 drives (see why below). This leaves us with 104,130 hard drives. The table below covers what happened in Q1 2019.

Today AMD announced their Q1 FY 2019 earnings. Revenues were down 23% year-over-year, coming in at $1.27 billion. Gross margin for the quarter was 41%, up 5% from a year ago, but operating income was down 68% to $38 million. Net income was down 80% to $16 million, and earnings-per-share were down 87.5% to $0.01.

AMD: 7nm ‘Navi’ GPU & 'Rome' CPU to Launch in Q3

Offering a brief update on the state of future products as part of its post-earnings conference call this afternoon, AMD has confirmed that both their upcoming Rome (Zen 2) CPU and their first Navi architecture GPU will launch in the 3rd quarter of this year.
