SALES & DEALS

The latest game from the devs behind Goat Simulator, Satisfactory, has sold 9 copies on the Epic Games Store [UPDATE]
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/the-latest-game-from-the-devs-behind-goat-simulator-satisfactory-has-sold-9-copies-on-the-epic-games-store/
Satisfactory, the latest game from the developers behind Goat Simulator, was released exclusively on the Epic Games Store last month and it appears that it has not sold well. According to the developers, the game has sold 9 copies (after some refunds from buyers that were not satisfied with it).
UPDATE: Some people suggest that these are parody/trolling tweets (however there is no reason for the team to do such a thing and create a controversy out of nowhere.
UPDATE #2 Although Coffee Stain Studios has not replied to our email, it has posted another tweet in which it basically confirms that the previous tweet was a joke. I still don’t see the reason behind this, especially since the “low sales” issues is something that affected a lot of indie developers in the past, but yeah; apparently everything is fine and there is nothing to worry about the game’s future.
>> If it's indeed a "joke", they should be ashamed.

The game passed one million copies sold this week across PC and consoles, and more than a quarter of those sales were on the Epic Games Store. Saber Interactive chief executive Matthew Karch told VentureBeat that the game has sold particularly well on the store outside of the US.

MODS/EMULATORS

PC gamers can now play The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild in first-person mode
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/pc-gamers-can-now-play-the-legend-of-zelda-breath-of-the-wild-in-first-person-mode/
As we’ve already reported, PC gamers can enjoy the latest Zelda game, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, via the Nintendo WiiU emulator, CEMU. The game runs in glorious 60fps and a new mod has been released for it, enabling a first-person camera viewpoint.
This mod allows a first-person viewpoint but switches to third-person when fighting or climbing. This was done in order to make it easier to fight multiple opponents and climb rocks or other places. Still, players can freely switch to a first-person mode when fighting and the combat mechanics appear to be working perfectly in this new viewpoint.
It’s also worth noting that this mod comes with three FOV modes. DefaultFOV is the regular and recommended FOV for PC users whereas WiderFOV allows to see more around you (it tends to make objects in the distance more pixellated than the other options). Last but not least, NarrowerFOV allows to see less around you (it works best for PC users and allows the game to be less pixelated).

The first classic Soul Calibur game has been remastered thanks to this AI-enhanced HD Texture Pack
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/the-first-classic-soul-calibur-game-has-been-remastered-thanks-to-this-ai-enhanced-hd-texture-pack/
Modder ‘pepodmc_’ has released a new AI-enhanced HD Texture Pack for the Dreamcast version of the first classic Soul Calibur game. Similarly to the Dino Crisis HD Texture Pack, PC gamers can use this texture pack in order to improve the game’s visuals by running it via the Dreamcast emulator, Reicast.
As the modder noted, this pack is a combination between upscaled Gigapixel textures and new textures. The reason the modder used some new textures is because he didn’t like some of them and others were so low resolution than he couldn’t improve their quality with gigapixel.

Half-Life 3 fan-made demo in Unreal Engine 4 is now available for download
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/half-life-3-fan-made-demo-in-unreal-engine-4-is-now-available-for-download/
Half Life fans, here is something for you today. Denys Almaral has released a demo for his Half-Life 3 fan-made version in Unreal Engine 4. This demo uses free assets that are currently available via the Unreal Engine marketplace, and looks quite cool.
As with most fan projects, this demo will give you an idea of what Half-Life 3 could look like in a modern-day engine like Unreal Engine 4. Also, this is made by a single person so there are obviously some limitations to what you can do in it.
Do note that there are currently no plans to turn this demo into a full-fledged Half-Life 3 fan game. For those interested in full fledged Half-Life 3 fan games, there are currently two promising projects under development; Boreal Alyph and Project Borealis.

Mortal Kombat 11 mod removes the ridiculous 30fps lock from Fatal Blows, Fatalities and cut-scenes
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/mortal-kombat-11-mod-removes-the-ridiculous-30fps-lock-from-fatal-blows-fatalities-and-cut-scenes/
Now here is a mod that most Mortal Kombat 11 PC fans should be using. Created by Endri Lauson, this mod removes the ridiculous 30fps lock from the game’s Fatal Blows, Fatalities, Krypt and cut-scenes.
As such, the game now feels smoother than ever and -surprisingly enough – it also fixes the TAA ghosting from which the original version suffered.
Not only that, but this mod also adds proper support for 21:9 monitors by removing the black side bars on the menus and Krypt for people who use Ultrawide monitors.

This Sekiro mod replaces the Great Serpent with Thomas the Tank Engine
https://www.pcgamer.com/this-sekiro-mod-replaces-the-giant-snake-with-thomas-the-tank-engine/
Thomas the Tank Engine must be the world's most adventurous train. After gracing the worlds of Resident Evil 2, Monster Hunter: World and Fallout 4, he's now rolled into Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, replacing the Great Serpent in a new mod.
Sekiro's Great Serpent appears several times throughout the game, so you'll have plenty of chances to feast your eyes on Thomas' eerily unblinking face. You don't get to hear his theme tune, sadly, but he will blow an amusingly squeaky whistle just before he attacks.
>> The mod is available from Nexus Mods, but remember that you'll need the Sekiro Mod Engine to run it.
