That's because it does suck. Narratively, it was going in multiple directions. Gameplay wise, it was a self automated snooze fest with limit break spamming (or whatever they were called) being the only way to beat bosses, and absolutely NONE of the characters were memorable with the exception of Bosch.
Final Fantasy 12 was a dumpster fire of a rennaisance themed world that was matched only by it's forgettable and pathetic plot.
Final Fantasy 12 sucks, and officially marked the beginning of Square Enix's onslaught of lackluster AAA releases. (FF12 was Square Enix's first mainline FF game to be released since Square Softs restructure)
