I like how people are acting like no one thought it would be great. Sure the game got a lot of criticism initially but let's be real, just about every trailer released after the game was delayed was met with positive reception and some sort of "Wow this looks really underrated" or "Wow this looks great, it may not be as good as God of War but it still looks amazing". In the thread about Days Gone looking mediocre, it even sort of seemed like that was becoming a minority opinion that was made fun of a lot or disregarded.

Now people are like "can't win them all amirite".

70's is still not a bad score. It's an ok one and on my ranking scale even pretty good. I just think it's funny how quick attitudes changed.

for sure.

I think it is also worth pointing out that Bend is one of Sony's smaller teams and they havent had a console game release for close to 10 years.

That doesn't excuse the problems the game has, but they have achieved some good stuff.

Yeah, to be honest, I don't really care so much about this specific game as I am Sony expanding their amount of big studios. This game was always the kind of title where I could tell it wasn't for me (because I don't really like generic open world titles), but I was sort of cautiously optimistic about it. I'm not sure I really care so much about Days Gone as I do Sony simply expanding their studio efforts, that's also why I'm excited for PixelOpus apart from Concrete Genie just looking very interesting. Having two new studios enter the dedicated console exclusive space is sort of exciting.

Also, not going to lie, I'm more interested in what they're going to do now after this anyways, since presumably we might not get a Days Gone 2 (Days Gone sort of feels like their Killzone). That's probably a jump though as I suspect it will at least sell well.
