There's no way Sony is going to allow that kind of discrepancy in power. Just 2 tflops, even if with those tflops you can do more than in Polaris, above Xbox One X would be PR suicide. Especially when the competition is doubling that number. No, I'm pretty sure the two top tier consoles are only going to be 1-1.5 tflops away from each other.

Almost everything of the console is already decided about 2 years before release, if Microsoft decided to go for a expensive premium box and Sony for a mainstream console there's really nothing Sony can do about it. We know this from previous leaks where PS4 specs was already leaked summer 2012 in a forum post at beyond3d saying the PS4 will have 8 jaguar cpu cores and 1,8TF and Microsoft revealed the TF number for Xbox one X already 1.5 years in advanced.

Looking at Vega 7 we see 60CU at 330mm2 die size, even if we remove the share of the HBM controllers we looking at 300mm2 for 60CU, remove a third of the CU's we have about 200mm2, now add the 8Core zen2 cpu + gddr6 controllers we looking at 300-350mm2 die size which is perfect for a console.

The leak I posted and the leaked codename Eurogamer is talking about (showing 3,2ghz cpu clock and 1,8ghz navi gpu clock) and estimated die size on 7nm HPC (high performance computing) they all fit perfectly togheter and we have:

An 8core zen2 cpu clocked at 3,2ghz, 36CU clocked at 1,8ghz giving 8,3TF, 12GB gddr6 Vram 336 GB/s memory speed and 1TF SSD, Fall 2020 $400.

Let's see what happens :)
