1. Lol when you said "behind" I thought you were implying West > Japan, and I looked at your list and thought "Did he even see that list? Most of those titles are either rated the same or just very slightly giving the nod to the west, Japan still has a lot of titles on that list!"

2. On your list it's 13 vs 13 for both. Although I think it's worth mentioning The Last of Us Remastered and Grand Theft Auto V are not original games.

3. Also, Shadow of the Colossus is a Japanese game, even if it was remade in the West.

1. Oh, I see how it may sound like that. No, it's definitely impressive that a single country manages to give us as many great games as the entire remaining world.

2. That's true. There are some ports from last gen. I think 6, right? GTAV, TLOU, Bayonetta 2, Mario Kart 8, Diablo 3, and Rayman Legends.

3. Good point. Yet another game that exists thanks to Japan.

Hmmmm I'm one of those people that would include Wii U games in this generation. I mean, it was only a year early. Bayonetta 2, Mario Kart 8 and Rayman Legends all count I think. Rayman was a Wii U game that got ported onto PS4 and One and then ported to older consoles, I guess that one is a little weird.

I'm not saying that just to make Japan's haul bigger, though. I just think 3DS, Wii U, and Switch might as well be considered 8th gen. It's weird splitting them up.
