Yes. We're nothing like, say, 2006, when the PS3 released. Gamers, on average, are much older (and thus have more cash to spend) and back then gaming itself was cheaper than it is now (for instance, now we've GPUs costing $1000 or more, literally unthinkable back in the GTX 8800 days). Not to mention the usual pricing of smartphones etc. nowadays.
