Monday news, the long part two:

Epic boss debunks spyware and Tencent conspiracy theories
https://www.pcgamer.com/epic-boss-debunks-spyware-and-tencent-conspiracy-theories/
Among the many criticisms levelled again the Epic Games Store, perhaps the most bizarre is the accusation that it is, in fact, spyware. Not any old spyware, either. Chinese spyware! According to the conspiracy theorists, the Communist Party of China has access through Tencent, which owns 40 percent of Epic. Today, Epic CEO Tim Sweeney tackled the claims.

Dario Argento, the Italian horror director behind Suspiria, Deep Red and that one where Harvey Keitel strangles a cat during a photoshoot, is currently dabbling in games. He's not swapping his director's cap for a developer one, but he is serving as creative supervisor for Dreadful Bond, a first-person psychological horror game set inside an abandoned manor.

https://www.pcgamer.com/see-a-demon-get-murdered-with-its-own-horn-in-this-devils-hunt-gameplay-video-from-pax/
Devil's Hunt is a demon-clobbering action game in development at Polish studio Layopi Games that follows a man named Desmond as he kicks all kinds of ass in a war between angels and demons. We spoke to Layopi about it last year and it sounds like it could be interesting, with customizable characters, "a robust skill and combo system," some puzzles to deal with, and pretty cool-looking environments.

https://www.pcgamer.com/judgment-may-come-to-pc-says-producer/
Yakuza spin-off, Judgment, may be headed to PC.
In an interview with IGN Japan (via ResetEra), producer Kazuki Hosokawa intimated that the team was keen to release the series on formats other than PlayStation 4 in order to "increase the player base". While he dashed hopes of a Nintendo Switch release any time soon, he did not do the same for PC—instead, Hosokawa said the developer was "considering the possibilities" across a range of additional formats.

Mortal Kombat 11's The Kollector keeps some grim things in his backpack
https://www.pcgamer.com/mortal-kombat-11s-the-kollector-keeps-some-grim-things-in-his-backpack/
The next fighter officially confirmed for Mortal Kombat 11 is The Kollector, one of the characters revealed via a roster leak a few weeks ago.
"A proud servant of the Outworld Empire", the Kollector "cares only for his wealth and status and will kill anyone to keep it". At first glance he seems to have just the one extra pair of arms, but a minute into the brief teaser video shows another pair of limbs clinging onto his backpack. They only seem to get involved when it comes to the evisceration.

https://www.pcgamer.com/fallout-76-fans-are-unhappy-that-bethesda-is-adding-pay-to-win-items/
Fallout 76 players have hit back at Bethesda for a new Repair Kit feature that some believe goes against Bethesda's assurances that the game would not include play-to-win items.

See Warhammer: Chaosbane's wood elf in action
https://www.pcgamer.com/see-warhammer-chaosbanes-wood-elf-in-action/
The last of Chaosbane's four heroes now has her own reveal trailer. The Warhammer action-RPG isn't blazing new trails by having an elf archer as a character, and yet having seen her Legolas her way through some beastmen then dodge-roll out of the way and summon some dryads I will definitely play her in the full game.

The Division 2 players can't find signature weapons ammo, Ubisoft investigating
https://www.pcgamer.com/the-division-2-players-cant-find-signature-weapons-ammo-ubisoft-investigating/
Since The Division 2's huge Tidal Basin update, players are finding ammo for signature weapons—weapons specific to each of the three end-game specializations—hard to come by. It appears to be a bug, and Ubisoft has confirmed it's investigating the matter.

Chapeau is a multiplayer platformer about being a hat
https://www.pcgamer.com/chapeau-is-a-multiplayer-platformer-about-being-a-hat/
If Team Fortress 2 taught me anything, it's that hats are great. Austrian indie devs Salt Castle Studio reckon they're great enough to warrant their own game altogether, so they've created Chapeau, a multiplayer platformer in which you control various pieces of headwear, from helmets to top hats. An alpha version is launching "soon".

Anthem drop rates and Elysian Caches to be tweaked in patch tomorrow
https://www.pcgamer.com/anthem-drop-rates-and-elysian-caches-to-be-tweaked-in-patch-tomorrow/

>> That tomorrow is today.

Pathway, the pulpy tomb-raiding tactics game, is out in just 4 days
https://www.pcgamer.com/pathway-the-pulpy-tomb-raiding-tactics-game-is-out-in-just-4-days/
Mash together XCOM, Tomb Raider, Indiana Jones and Wargroove and you'd probably get something that looks like Pathway, a pixel art turn-based tactics game about pinching treasure from Nazis. Publisher Chucklefish—which developed Wargroove—has announced a release date, and it's sooner than I expected. It'll launch on April 11, which is in just four days.

Borderlands 3 co-op partners won't compete for loot, unlike in Borderlands 2
https://www.pcgamer.com/borderlands-3-co-op-players-wont-compete-for-loot-unlike-in-borderlands-2/

Skybound Games had five staff when they stepped in to save The Walking Dead
https://www.pcgamer.com/skybound-games-had-five-staff-when-they-stepped-in-to-save-the-walking-dead/
In a recent interview with Gamespot, Telltale's former creative director Kent Mudle and CEO of Skybound Games Ian Howe discussed the resurrection of The Walking Dead: The Final Season. When Telltale's closure was announced in 2018 only the first episode of the four-episode series had been released, and while the second made it out before doors closed the last two were still in early stages of pre-production.

Overwatch might be heading to Havana for the next Archives event
https://www.pcgamer.com/overwatch-havana-map/
Overwatch might be taking a trip to Havana in the near future, judging by a teaser that popped up over the weekend. It's a fictional report from the Havana Sun, spinning a story of a treasured local rum distillery, Don Rumbotico, swallowed up by a shady, anonymous financial group.

The Division 2's daily and weekly projects have been disabled
https://www.pcgamer.com/the-division-2s-daily-and-weekly-projects-have-been-disabled/
If you've made plans to complete some daily or weekly projects in The Division 2, post-apocalyptic D.C. is going to have to make do without your help for a little while longer. An exploit had led to them being disabled until the issue is fixed.

Play as an angry crab with a kitchen knife in this free comedy game
https://www.pcgamer.com/play-as-an-angry-crab-with-a-kitchen-knife-in-this-free-comedy-game/
The crustaceous cousin to Untitled Goose Game, and Catlateral Damage, Knife 2 Meat U is a game about a horrible crab. A horrible crab that has somehow got hold of a blade. You play as said crab in this silly comedy physics game, skittering about a house and garden causing trouble for the owners, who were most likely hoping to have you for dinner.
