To be fair, Valve doesn't need to send any incentives, the Steam monopoly is incentive enough and it's the reason why the deal only lasts for 6 months. Valve basically made a deal without actually making a deal.
If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.
