Honestly, with how weird and strange this situation has been, it's hard to know for sure ... but I don't think this is on Sony. At all. There's really a lot more pointing to it being entirely on Capcom and there's so many oddities that I don't think it points to Sony.

-In the West, two scenes were censored on PS4, but one scene was censored on other platforms. The scenes both depict the same kind of material (a naked butt), and had this been a Sony demand, either no scenes would be censored on other platforms or all scenes would be censored on all platforms in the West to establish parity and create no backlash.

-The game is "uncensored" in Japan (though I'm not sure if this means both scenes are uncensored or just the Trish scene is uncensored), despite the fact that Sony's censorship policies have affected Japan to a notable extent.

-The game's patch "uncensored" it in the U.S., despite the fact that many critics of Playstation's censorship policies like to point out that their headquarters being in the U.S. supposedly contributes to their desire to censor and bring games to a U.S.-centric standard. Right now, the only major region that is not "uncensored" is Europe, meaning it doesn't make a lot of sense to attribute this to Sony.

Honestly ... does anyone really think that Sony went to Capcom and asked for the one extra scene to be censored? They are pretty harmless and are nowhere near as bad as what other major publishers can get away with. It makes even less sense when you realize that ALL platforms are censored. The way this has been spread and reported is completely false - all versions in the West have censorship, the version on PS4 just had a single more scene that was censored. And that scene depicts nearly the same exact thing as the scene that was censored on all other platforms, a naked butt. So why would Sony specifically go up to Capcom and ask for this specific scene to be censored? It just doesn't make any sense and to be honest I have a feeling that both scenes were supposed to be censored on all platforms in the West because Capcom didn't want to offend, but a mistake was made.

The funny thing is that the scene that's censored on all platforms is regarding - by far - the fan favorite female character in the DMC series. Which makes me wonder why no one is talking about if that scene is still censored or not? I guess people only want to focus on the scene that was exclusively censored on PS4 for headlines. I'll have to find out myself I suppose ... this also makes me wonder if the game was entirely uncensored in Japan, or if their Lady scene was censored too.
