It's not entirely gospel, but at the same time, I'm not surprised that Epic still wants most, if not all of Steam's userbase, using their own client.
Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.
