Nah, see above. I wanted to at first. Not bow out, but rather leave confused. Because I still don't understand half of what you are trying to say. But I responded anyway. :P |
I saw above my own post, and other user was able to read what I'd typed out just fine. If you want to bow out, that is also fine.

For me the netgain in having a beefy rig is so I can play Star Citizen which I forgot to mention since it's still in alpha. This is a unique case because Star Citizen is such a powerful game that it's only possible on PC, and I like to play MMORPGs like FFXIV on PC. Metro and DMC5 is prime examples of multiplatform games that fully utilize a beefy GPU so my investment in my rig is worth it for all of that. So as of right now I have 1 PC exclusive game, and a bunch of PlayStation exclusives. I hope this answers your question. |
YEah, that coincides with the "few" games part. It's only possible on PC, but if we follow the next gen and gen after that assumptions, it'd only be a "matter of time". You can also play XIV on PC, like others do as well.
Mmn, yeah, I can play DMC V on my rig as well, quite well in fact, along with REmake 2, but do they look massively different, like Crysis 1 good, for the hw I'm sporting?, nah, not all that much. Good performance, but that is what we should always expect from competent devs, not "oh these guys did good this time around,a ll the other games must be legit demanding (yet they're designed to run on base lv console hw, so no, hardly legit demanding if they don't look as different). Metro is giving a run for the money, but that's largely in the RT dept, which at this moment is factually a rip-off by all marks (Ask Linus and other youtubers as well as the market on PPP value, it's really not worth £1300+ for first gen real time RT).
It answers a part of it, but at the same time it raises a new one. If your PS4 was 100% worthwhile investment, then surely beefing up a rig in the future and having 2-3 games "using" said rig makes that 100% well worth it each and every time? (if we go by that logic and also meaning fewer games on PC being used).
Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.
