I am still not convinced by a stream only device.
All I have tried out for gaming over a stream was using Steam Link on my 4k tv where my PC was the server.
My TV has only a 100mbit/s connection where the rest is 1gbit/s in my network.

I was streaming a 4k image and the quality of that image was really bad. A lot of compression artefacts and thus a loss in detail and image quality.
I don't know how they want to go that route with less bandwidth available on customers side.

Also, 4k 60hz 4:4:4 chroma 8 bit uncompressed uses around 16gbit/s (not checked the actual number). Now compress it down to like 20 / 50 / 100 mbit/s and you know what I am talking about.

And no one wants to play a game with a blurry image. I have a mostly stable internet connection, but occasionally it will hiccup for up to a couple seconds, and depending how the server-side software handles those situations, I can see the game continuing to play without you (more than likely) or freezing itself until the connection is freed up. The problem with the first of those two scenarios is that if the game tries to continue playing through even the smallest of hiccups, it could miss your input and that feels bad man. The problem with the second of the scenarios is micro-stuttering.

I really hope we don't get to the point where streaming games is the norm. I can see the cost-effectiveness being so great that companies would be willing to make those kinds of quality of life sacrifices.
