Name a game you hated to see end...

If you guys love rpgs, I highly recommend it. It starts off sorta slow but once you get a good few hours into it, it really gets addicting.

 

Is the gameplay comparable or a step up from Dragon Quest 8 ? (since that was the former console DQ)

It plays very similarly to Dragon Quest 8. Some differences:

- The way skills work is no longer a linear list of skills, but a "skill tree" now.
- Enemies show up when navigating the world, so you get to pick your fights.
- The crafting system plays out like a mini-game, and items have varying qualities. Your crafting skill increases as you level up allowing you to make better items.

Both games are very comparable to each other though.
