This is a great example of why so many people buy consoles. Many couldn't or just wouldn't go to the hassle you have and would just go to the store, buy the cheapest laptop possible for their computing needs, have the stores tech support transfer everything over, and also buy a console/hybrid. Way less headaches all around. They just wouldn't end up with the all in one solution you will have when you've got everything functioning properly. The more complex you make something, the more kinks your going to have to work out. That's just life. Gotta fight the little battles to win the war. Yep, pretty ironic. Get the game for $1 with game pass, got to buy a $30 controller to play it. But eh, I get to play it on a higher frame rate than the tv supports and don't have to wait until I can use the tv. Plus once my data cap resets (in 4 days) I can check out some more games from game pass.
The cheapest laptop plus xbox one x would have been the same price in the end. This screen is much better though. I still have my old laptop sitting next to it and this one just puts that to shame. It even supports some form of HDR for movies. Contrast is really good. I'm quite happy with my purchase, it's just a struggle with windows every time you upgrade.
My old xbox live game tag still works, no problems there. Plus the best thing is, starting games from SSD. I really hope next gen consoles have at least some sort of hybrid solution.
On the flip side, I just downgraded my Netflix subscription. Just as I'm using it less, and had already set it to SD to save bandwidth, they come with a price hike to 13.99 a month for HD. No thank you. When Netflix started it was $7 a month for HD with multiple screens. Twice as expensive now...
