Competition is, when it isn't being shady, anti-consumer and annoying consumers as a result. healthy honest competition is good for everyone.
Sony managed to do what MS didn't, because they looked at the massive mistakes MS made at the start of the gen, and then they went into cruise control mode. MS is now picking up the pieces that Sony is ignoring, and as a result, Sony will have to catch up to what MS is doing next gen. I've yet to see Epic do this in regards to what Steam has been doing, both games development wise and feature/consumer wise.
Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.
