Well, yeah, It's sad that fell into the hype cycle again, especially after that atrocity known as lets go. We know for sure there is going to be a three hour tutorial section in the beginning, and a railroady, cutscene heavy story that is crap. It's gonna be the same graphics as pokemon lets go, 40 new pokemon, and all the kanto pokemon return with some new great gimmick that no other gens get. Held items, abilities, wild battles all removed, and the gyms are gated like they were in lets go.

I was very high on Pokemon Sun/Moon initially (as you know), but on my most recent playthrough, I'm starting to see a lot of flaws in it. Constant handholding and long cutscenes that are unskippable. Which are fine for the first two or so playthroughs, but they quickly become tedious. The story is overrated, and the "twist" is seen coming from a mile away. PSS and Dexnav removed the annoying rotom dex. Continued gen 1 pandering (there are more gen 1 pokemon in S/M than even gen 7, and only gen 1 getting Alola forms). And festival plaza sucks.

Even though it does a lot things right, It's now only a middle of the pack gen for me now.

I regret shitting on Black/White and Black 2/White 2,  when they came out. With how much gen 1 pandering there is now, I'm really starting to appreciate those games more and more, and how GF went so bold. I think a lot of people are starting to feel the same way, which is awesome. It's our fault that we are not getting more games like that, due to everyone shitting on them when they released.

However, we know for sure that gen 8 has been being developed since much before Sun/Moon, so at least three years, maybe even four. Reports say that 300 people are involved with Pokemon 2019. Not that it means much, we'll till get the same game I described in my first paragraph.

I know me and you will both end up dissapointed, but I still hold some hope.
