You are correct. But that occasional spin is what cause the disc scratch more easily. Moving parts. It's safer if the disc is in a constant motion (like a dvd player). or something like that.

Plus, it's really annoying having to hunt down "that disc" when switching games.

Diablo II disc was in my computer for so long years ago. It was nice to not having to switch games.

Can't wait till there's another game come out that does the same again.
