Microsoft has so much money they literally bought Mojang for $2,500,000,000 because they projected that they’d make more profit off of that annually than what they’d make in interest if that money were sitting in the bank. Just a stupid amount of money.
That money would have netted them about 25 million sitting in the bank. They figured to make more than that annually with the Minecraft brand. It was purely a money move, less of an “Xbox move”. You can’t say “well they spent 2.5B there, it could have been spent elsewhere on studios”. Logic doesn’t work like that.
