That would be a fair point to make if sales of JRPGs on XB1 didn't indicate a fairly prominent lack of interest in that section of the industry.

That would also be a fair point if Japanese publishers have ever supported the platform the way they are doing with Playstation. There were almost zero JRPGs in 2014-2016 while tons of them on PS4. The JRPG fanbase just isn't on this platform for the most part. I think that the statement that Xbox gamers aren't interested in the genre is not quite correct, it is more like the majority of those who love JRPGs aren't interested in Xbox as their platform of choice.
