Two is fine for the most part, for example Gears 4 was made by Coalition (Singleplayer) and Splash Damage (Multiplayer). Crackdown 3 though was made by Cloudgine, Reagent, Ruffian, Sumo. God knows who else, TMCC was also made by about 5 studios too, Lol. So it's definitely likely that there was too many hands on it.

Funnily enough there was rumours that it was the singleplayer having trouble near the end of development and the multiplayer was done, I forgot who from but some verified insider on Era mentioned it. I have no interest in the multiplayer and never really have, It was just to show off cloud really, I would have preferred if they abandoned the multiplayer altogether and focused fully on singleplayer but that's just me.

Huh ... that's weird. I assumed that because Black Tusk became THE Gears of War studio that they made every part of the game. I guess Gears 4 is a good example of a game that was handled well recently with two studios.

But you're right and that would make sense. I think MP4 was rumored to have more than just two studios working on it, with each part of the game getting it's own studio, and I think they were in different parts of the world even. That's just a rumor though, but regardless, knowing how complex game development is it doesn't seem like a stretch to conclude there's been a little bit too much cooks in the kitchen.

Hopefully they don't hang up the franchise just because of 3 and 2
