Uhhh.... what? This year’s forza (likely the the forza of the gen) has surpassed last year’s iteration (motorsport 7) and is on track to surpass forza 5.

Are you just here to shitpost? The Horizon series is more arcade based and brings a lot of changes with each iteration.

Just curious, any idea what he was actually responding to in that gif?

To be fair, the current Microsoft management was dealt a terrible hand this gen.  The previous management had shuttered most of the studios or driven off all the talent from the studios leaving them as shells of their former selves.

I think the current management has done an ok job (not great) at limiting the damage that was done.  I do think they are setting themselves up pretty well for the next gen... but time will tell.  Xbox certainly seemed to take a step back from the 360 years this gen... but it looks like they may be poised for another step forward...

Phil Spencer was General Manager of Microsoft Studios since 2008, Vice President since 2009. Let's stop talking like if he wasn't a part of anything before 2014. He was directly involved, and was part of the "previous management". You complain about how the previous management managed the studios, and oh surprise, Phil Spencer was the one in charge of that.

It would be nice to stop one day the "Don Mattrick is responsible of everything and Phil Spencer is a victim" excuse.

This. Phil Spencer was also there through all of the DRM scandal. And he either agreed with it internally before it was announced or chose to remain silent.  I do know he defended those policies publicly.

Don Mattrick stopped being a viable scapegoat after the first year of the XBO. After that, Spencer gets all the blame.
