PS3 offered superior HW over X360 (even more because of the BD) and still had a hard time costing 499-599.

As I said, PS5 can sell well launching for 499 against a X2 of 399 if all the money goes on HW itself without peripherals or unnecessary stuff. But it wouldn't see a hot start as PS4. People are to attached to low price, so raising the initial price by 100 even if inflation itself would make it, does a hard deal. Would be easier to see Sony making a 499 HW sold by 399 and eating up loss for first year offset by PSN+ than they just releasing for 499.

I use a SR avy for a month if you win or you use a LoD avy for a month if I win.

If it's anything lower than 399, in between 399 and 499, or over 499 then nobody needs to change avy.

*399 also equals to 400 and 499 also equals to 500, meaning 399 or 400 you win and 499 or 500 I win.

BTW, if I win and you like using a LoD avatar after that month you can keep it forever

Would be to boring of a bet. You think they are going more premium, I think they want mass market price. So Below 450 I win, above 450 you win, on 450 we both lose =p and change avatars. At least we chose good games.
