As much as you may not like it, if the XB2 performs worse than the XBO, it is inevitable.  Investors, nor Nadella, are going to want MS to continue to release HW if it continues to underperform.  It's why they are pushing PC and this Live expansion.  If they can't rule the console space with their own HW, they'll try to do it with SW and online.

As long as they’re making money, I highly doubt investors care. Didn’t Sony sell like 90 million or so PS3s? And yet it lost them money?

The reason you keep predicting Microsoft to exit and keep coming up wrong is you’re looking at it from a sales scoreboard point of view when that’s mostly irrelevant. Also its not surprising Microsoft is branching out into services and other stuff, every company is, even Sony and Nintendo.

Keep predicting?  I suppose I have said it several times, but it was about the same console.  We'll see what XB2 brings.

Making money is important, but if it's not making much of a profit, they will still say its not worth the R&D and want to move on.  And every step MS has been making this gen has been making moving on easier.  They still may be making a bunch of money next gen on SW and Live, but if not much of that is coming from the console side of things because sales are even lower than this gen, that's what will happen.
