So Microsoft lost Remedy, while Sony lost Quantic Dream. I dont really know what to say, other than that it's great that more people will get access to their games, I guess.

I don't consider either of these losses. Both Microsoft and Sony had the option to purchase (particularly the latter, when David Cage mentioned he'd be fine with it an acquisition from them). They (MS + Sony) just may not have seen the benefit outweighing the cost and decided against it. We just don't know. But, I remember similar talk when Insomniac was developing Sunset Overdrive. Fast forward to 2019 and the notion has totally evaporated.

While it's nice to think of Sony MS or Nintendo buying studios that appear on the market. People were clamouring for Sony to buy Atlus  but Sony would have taken a pragmatic approach toward any purchase by doing a cost benefit analysis, one of the reasons we don't see platform holders running around buying up Companies like Atlus - Quantic Dream all the time is simply because they most likely will have the game on their platform regardless and unless your a minecraft and on basically everything at time of purchase, quite often the easiest way to grow these IP's is by putting them on multiple platforms, another factor is you don't have any surety regarding the talent, how many buyouts have seen key staff leave in the first couple of years.
