No problem with most of this thread, but ... people know Steam is DRM, right? Offline mode is far from some kind of DRM remover and it's certainly not perfect. I've been unable to play a game offline more than a few times. Steam also FORCES you to update games or you can't play at all--well, unless you google a few tricks.
