The lost profit arguement you use only works if the game actually turns a profit on the platform. If a potential boycott causes a loss then that's what they have to go off.

That's a logical statement. But Deep Silver wouldn't be in this mess, if they would keep the game on Steam and release it also on Epic store with the price cut which they've actually already done so. No one would've got offended with the exception of the usual suspects.
