Should Final Fantasy become a new type of game or should Final Fantasy not become a new type of game?

I don't think FF should become a new type of game.  I think it should become an old type of game.  I have love this series since the very first one.  For many years I considered it my favorite series.  But after 13, they lost me, somewhat.  And after 15 they lost me all the way.  The quality dropped a lot on the 13 games compared to previous entries, and with 15 I just played it for an hour and couldn't get into it.  Final Fantasy used to be my favorite series and now I barely care if another one comes out.

I would like them to go back to the design of the older games.  Specifically FF 4-12 were when they were really firing on all cylinders.  I think of FF games as turn-based, party-based games with a very strong story.  They start kind of linear, but eventually reveal a huge open world.  That is what I want again.  Please return to that old FF magic that I loved for decades.
