Proof that 1 is Equal to .999999999........!

Actually you screwed up right there (right in the beginning too lol). 1/3 is not exactly .333333

 

 

The "......" is supposed to indicate that it continues on forever. I'm looking for a way to disprove this too, but I'm too tired right now...and there probably isn't a way.

He's essentially saying 1 = .99999 with an infinite number of nines.  It can be confusing to think about.

This is more of a philosophical question than a math question...
