So, even if you pre-ordered the physical version, it will be delivered with a key for the Epic Store now. No Steam key included!!

Oh boy, … Amazon still advertises the game for Steam. Don't know what the vendors will go through...

Well this is bad, and it's all on Epic/Amazon/THQ's heads at that.

The pc world ain't black and white anymore mate. A console like war is coming whether you like it or not. All those things you said about EPIC not bothering to make games for their fans. Well Valve have some of the most loved IP's ever and lord Gaben can't be arsed splashing his billions developing them. There's so much potential there but the success of STEAM made them lazy as devs. I hope the coming war does 2 things.

1. Forces STEAM to stop ripping off devs when they don't even package the hardware the vast majority of their users play on.

2. Spend just a fraction of their billions and start ramping up production of their IP's again.

It was never to begin with, it's easier to see who's not providing what today than it was years ago. There is no console like war coming mate, there is only one company doing this. The others actually have a right to the games they've created like Blizzard for example. Epic is simply buying up timed exclusivity, not perma exclusives, so no, it's not a console like war.

Yeah, Epic, the company you clearly root for, has abandoned two games, two games within recent years mind you, for Fortnite. For PC gamers, dropping a PC IP isn't a good sign of support, it's a bad one, and at least Valve are actually making multiple games for PC, rather than going "I could drop these for a FN clone and make billions while ignoring everyone else".

"beloved IP's", like what?. Tell me how "beloved" they are, that they get mentions and GOTY's again, because this site loves spreading that crap around, as if it means something. HL got one eons ago, but nothing since for any of Valve's IP's. See, to some of you, you like seeing IP's spamming into the ground, like COD, but that doesn't make it A-ok to do such a thing. Yes I'd like to see HL concluded, but it's clear that it isn't happening since all the writers have left. Don't be an arse and demand they make it without the original writers, because then you'd be demanding a butchered game from people that never wrote the first two games in the first place.

Epic have made billions and they've dropped two of their games, while neglecting their original game Fornite, in favor of it's BR mode. So while you call Valve lazy (despite them making multiple games than Epic is even making with their single game from last year), Epic isn't doing much from their own end either in terms of own IP creation.

I hope it forces all the clients to do the same, Ubisoft, EA, GoG, and the consoles, not just Steam.

I hope Steam do create brand new IP's, just not spamming the same old IP's.

You know what's interesting about all of this?. How often do you even use Steam, let alone your PC?.

Mate I use my pc every day. I got a brand-new surface pro for Christmas too so use that on the go as well. But frankly it's my business only how often I use my pc not yours.

Turbulent times are coming, instead of arguing with you on opinion id rather just wait and be proved right or wrong. Developers want that STEAM cut reduced and they'll get their way sooner or later. How soon depends on Valve. The longer they wait the more clout competitors like Epic and Twitch will have.
