Clearly Sony has a business model that allows them to have an active presence in South America and be profitable, they're not out there doing charity work. Like zorg already explained to you, 100,000 employee conglomerate vs a 5,000 employee game company. It's not just about 'wanting players', it's about wanting returns on investments to stay afloat in a rapidly changing global economy.
