Adjustments are being made. Mainly lowering sales in Europe outside the big 3 and rest of world.

Great job. We're you going to make these adjustments anyway or just now after finding out? Regardless keep up the good work and I look forward to the year ahead on Vgchartz.

Xbox one had multiple revisions to sell just 40 million. (Xbox one S, X, multiple storage configs & SKUs, limited editions etc)

The Wii U got only one so far. (The switch).

So Wii U won.

There is a difference between a revision (Xbox One S) and a brand new device (Switch). One of them is also still be manufactured for sale. The Wii U is the clear loser under that criteria.

It gotta admit though that was funny. Never seen a post Wii U failure post spin it into a positive and this managed it. He got a chuckle out of me.

I kind of think Microsoft is treating the XB1 very much like how Nintendo treated the Wii U. When it was getting near the end, it got little support because they were gearing up for the Switch. Well XB1 isn't getting many exclusives anymore, but we know they just bought several new studios. Put those things together and it seems like Microsoft is planning to have a very strong launch/first year for its next console.

Also, I don't understand why so many people say the release is going to be in 2020. Does this come from an insider, or is this just one of those "facts" on the internet where you repeat a lie enough times until it becomes the truth?

Good point regarding release. I think we all just assume MS won't want Sony getting a head start and will either release with the ps4 or jump the gun.

I often see VGChartz sales numbers used in other articles on other sites. Maybe the XB1 numbers should have been purposely under tracked, even enough so that it would be embarrassing to MS to have those numbers used and spread across the net, hopefully forcing them to offer updated more reliable data? If sites like this are over tracking XB1 sales, then MS has pretty much zero reason to publicly say otherwise. The downside of course would be that it wouldn't exactly look good on VGChartz to have numbers 'knowingly' that far off, just in the hopes of MS coughing up the legit count.

I had this thought before lol. Have their numbers at 33m or something and when news sites start reporting it they might come out and say "actually we are at 40m vgchartz is wrong". But yeah the shitstorm for vgchartz wouldn't be worth it.

As we all know, the WiiU is just an add on to the Wii. Wii to sell 200 million and become greatest selling console ever?

Post of the year so far. Although won't some people then argue the ps1, ps2, ps3, ps4 and ps5 are all just revisions of the same platform with the Vita and PSP the handheld forms?!

ZhugeEX numbers and VGC ones are within the margin of error of each other, unless verified infos arrive confirming ZhugeEX more than VGC, the latter doesn't need to adjust more than the former.

ZhugeEX has access to official numbers. He doesn't come up with estimates himself.
