You shouldn't be getting an aneurysm over people sharing their opinions about which games they like. For many people, making a list of their 50 favorite ever means not only games that are "objectively" good, but more importantly games that have meant something to them or bring special memories. I don't think anyone's gonna debate that Melee is a better game than Smash 64, but people have different experiences and that's what they're gonna give value to. |
Let me rephrase that. I don't understand how anybody could vote for OG Smash over Melee, and Goldeneye getting a spot in the top 100 gave me an aneurysm. Smash 64 is still a fun game IMO, just not the best in the series. Goldeneye on the other hand is dated.
Also, I'm only about half joking with the aneurysm bit. But oh well.
And yeah, people will list their favorite games based on what they got the most playtime with, or remember best. Or at least some people will. I was just trying to explain my theory as to why PC/Xbox games rarely make the list despite being games that broke a ton of ground when they came out.
