While at base i dont believe destiny was a great game it is safe to assume that without Activision s greed, it would have at least be less grindy and microtransactions would be a lot less.
Ps. While its just an assumption. I would not be surprised if bungi wanted all the dlc that released over the 3 years destiny lived to be all released over one year under a single season pass. But activision would not make as much cash. While im not into thouse games. Even i would be impresed by the amount of content.
It takes genuine talent to see greatness in yourself despite your absence of genuine talent.
