it got criticized and bashed and mocked so long yet it outsold the xbox 360 and had elite console exclusives and many amazing multiplatform games that even if they were not always native 720p or 30fps still was a sign of SONY working hard behind the scenes to convince dev companies to work with the complicated ps3 structure. It also played blu ray movies in a time were a player would cost 300 easy, it stored music and let you burn CDs, it could let you watch many video formats from a flash drive, it had free online play, they gave free stuff when there were hacks, the wireless charging controllers were awesome, and many of the games were split screen multiplayer while the ps4 and xbox barely has any compared to previous gens
