Not exactly true. 1 million people upgraded to the pro. Don't you think a large chunk of those were sold to other people or given to a friend/family member? 

 

I am sure some were sold, some are broken at this point, and some are kept as collectors items. But all in all Switch is close to or has surpassed the PS4 Japanese User base at this point (IMO). All the SKU's will be surpassed in Japan by the end of 2019 regardless.
