I am a collector so I prefer Nintendo's model.

They maintain a high price. Less copies on the secondary market means games are worth more.

When you devalue your product quickly there is no more incentive to buy it new. The quicker the prices drop the less launch numbers will be in the long run. I used to buy PS3/4 games day 1, but now I wait a few months because its a waste of my money being an early adopter.

The funny thing is even games that sold a lot still remain at a relatively high price point. People don't sell thier Nintendo first party games often.

They don't because generally they go up in value on the secondary market lol.

WIth other consoles if you buy at launch you have to play hardcore in the first week to get your satisfaction out of the game then quickly trade it in with 2weeks before value is worthless.
