Thursday news, part two:
Prey's Typhon Hunter multiplayer mode is very bare bones
https://www.pcgamer.com/preys-typhon-hunter-multiplayer-mode-is-very-bare-bones/
Prey’s multiplayer mode, Typhon Hunter, sounds like a perfect fit for the paranoia-inducing FPS. Launched yesterday, it puts one player in the shoes of Morgan, while three other players get to be mimics, using their shapeshifting abilities to hide from the gun-toting scientist. Unfortunately, players are reporting lots of issues.
The cuddly yet violent Super Animal Royale is free to play for the next few days

If you've been looking for a sweet and cuddly take on battle royale, your whiskers may be twitching this morning. That's because Super Animal Royale just entered Steam Early Access. It's battle royale with adorable animals as its competitors, such as foxes, tigers, bears, and rabbits. It's still perfectly violent, mind you: these woodland creatures are packing some serious heat. It's also free to play for the next three days on Steam, and having played several rounds this morning I highly recommend trying it out.
Epic is making Fortnite's cross-platform features free for all developers
https://www.pcgamer.com/epic-is-making-fortnites-cross-platform-services-free-for-all-developers/
Fortnite is a massive, cross-platform, online undertaking that supports millions of people playing at the same time, and the systems that enable that functionality "are expensive to build, test, and harden in real-world conditions," says Epic. Because it has already done the heavy lifting to build those services, and presumably also because it's enjoying mind-boggling success as a result, Epic has decided to make Fortnite's cross-platform software infrastructure available to other developers for free.
Insurgency: Sandstorm is very loud and out now
https://www.pcgamer.com/insurgency-sandstorm-is-very-loud-and-out-now/
Insurgency: Sandstorm launched yesterday, and I was just about to share that fact with you when, instead, I found myself hiding behind walls, sprinting between alleys and trying not to get shot as insurgents poured into courtyards under the cover of smoke. It’s a startlingly loud shooter, especially with headphones, and extremely stressful. I rather like it so far.
Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion is still getting DLC after six years
https://www.pcgamer.com/sins-of-a-solar-empire-rebellion-is-still-getting-dlc-after-six-years/
We’re definitely due a new Sins of a Solar Empire. Rebellion, the last standalone expansion, came out in 2012 and fans of RTS-4X hybrids have been pretty underserved since. Unfortunately, we’re not getting a sequel, but Rebellion is getting some new DLC very soon. The Minor Factions DLC will pop into existence on December 17.
Gris is a gorgeous platformer that's out now
https://www.pcgamer.com/gris-is-a-gorgeous-platformer-thats-out-now/
Gorgeous puzzle platformer Gris is out now, so we’re due another very pretty trailer. Watch above.
Gris spins a yarn about a girl trapped in a world of her own making as she deals with some unspoken painful experience. How does she deal with this experience, you ask? Why, solving puzzles and platforming, of course. It’s the only true path to catharsis.
Please excuse my bad English.
