I'm worried about how it will look. I know a lot of people prefer any game over no game at all, and to an extent I do too (assuming the port is decent), but also for these big realistic looking triple A's the downgrades are a lot more noticeable than say for something like Valkyria Chronicles 4.

Smash for Switch actually looks surprisingly amazing so if it's 30fps on Switch it might have a chance of looking decent.

Also in terms of reveal trailers, the Mortal Kombat 10 trailer looks more visually impressive, but most likely just do to the way it was made. That dark shadow lighting next to the white snow is so beautiful.

Well it will be interesting to see, but NetherRealm Studios are probably content with what they can achieve with the engine on Switch, since they already announced a simultaneous launch for all systems.
This is also interesting because it suggests that one of the major gripes with these kind of multiplats may be a non-issue, or not noticeable in this case. I'm referring to how developing games for the lowest common denominator can affect the higher end versions negatively, by the lower end versions holding them back.
That the developer says the visuals and gameplay will surprise us in that manner means that however the Switch may be holding another version back in any way, it probably won't be noticeable, and in fact may be overshadowed by how improved the game looks compared to the previous entry.
So I have a feeling the overall impression will be that it looks impressive on all platforms.

A 30fps hardcore fighting game though? I don't think NetherRealm would do that.
That would make framedata impossible to read.

Yeah, now that I think about it they wouldn't even need to do that to have decent graphics. Just make it like a middle ground between MK9 and 11
