Friday news, part two:
Prey: Mooncrash multiplayer update will go live next week
https://www.pcgamer.com/prey-mooncrash-multiplayer-update-will-go-live-next-week/
The Prey: Mooncrash multiplayer mode that Bethesda said would be out this summer will actually arrive on December 11 in a free update called Typhon Hunter. The asymmetric mode is much like a game of hide-and-seek, in which one player takes on the role of Morgan Yu and up to five others become Mimics capable of changing their appearance to that of mundane objects, enabling them to hide in plain sight.
Black Ops 4 is now available for $30 without the Zombies mode
https://www.pcgamer.com/black-ops-4-is-now-available-for-dollar30-without-the-zombies-mode/
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is, in a way, three games. There's the standard multiplayer modes, Blackout (the battle royale mode), and Zombies mode (which is a zombies mode). A new version of the game called Battle Edition snaps a piece off like so much Kit-Kat and offers it to you at a reduced price on Battle.net. Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Battle Edition contains the Blackout and standard multiplayer modes for $30 (until January 6, when it'll cost $40). Zombies not included.
Overwatch is really embracing the furry theme this holiday season
https://www.pcgamer.com/overwatch-is-really-embracing-the-furry-theme-this-holiday-season/
Overwatch's Winter Wonderland seasonal event is just around the corner, and Blizzard seems to be really embracing a furry theme this time around. The company has been teasing several of the new skins that will come with the event—earlier this week we saw Zarya take the form of a real Russian bear. Now Lúcio is a fox too.
Ape Out, the ultra-violent ape escape game, finally has a release date
https://www.pcgamer.com/ape-out-the-ultra-violent-ape-escape-game-finally-has-a-release-date/
Joe described Ape Out last year as "a loud, psychedelic gorilla-starring Hotline Miami-a-like," and that pretty well nails it. It's a game about an ape who busts out and busts heads: Simple, fast, furious, and violent, and backed by a frenetic jazz-percussion soundtrack of "drums, cymbals, and decapitations" that reacts to what's happening on screen.
Destiny 2's Dawning event will feature a sled that poops presents
https://www.pcgamer.com/destiny-2s-dawning-event-will-feature-a-sled-that-poops-presents/
Nothing quite says secular celebration like a booster-powered space sled, and so I'm delighted to bring news that the festive event known as the Dawning is returning to Destiny 2. This year's version will see the return of Eva Levante, a human Guardian Outfitter from the original Destiny who survived the war against the Red Legion, but did not reopen her shop when it was over.
Star Control: Origins is getting a four-part season pass that debuts next week
https://www.pcgamer.com/star-control-origins-is-getting-a-four-part-season-pass-that-debuts-next-week/
The interstellar strategy-adventure Star Control: Origins is getting a four-part season pass called Earth Rising that will add "dozens of missions, new alien races, and a variety of ships" to the game. The expansion will leave the job of starship captain essentially unchanged—advance Earth's interests in the galactic community with a deft blend of diplomacy and violence—but the state of the galaxy itself sounds a whole lot more complicated.
Monster Hunter World update roadmap includes 21:9 support and lots of monsters
https://www.pcgamer.com/monster-hunter-world-update-roadmap-includes-219-support-and-lots-of-monsters/
Capcom has released a roadmap for the PC version of Monster Hunter World, and it includes much-requested support for 21:9 ultra wide monitors. That's coming in either January or February next year as part of Title Update 5.1, but there is one caveat: cutscenes won't display at 21:9.
Bethesda confirms up to 65 customers may have had personal data leaked
https://www.pcgamer.com/bethesdas-website-briefly-revealed-customer-support-tickets-and-personal-information/
Update 1: Bethesda has acknowledged and apologized for the incident, saying it revealed "a limited number" of tickets, none of which contained complete credit card information or passwords.
Update 2: Bethesda now says its investigation of the issue shows that "fewer than 123" customer support tickets were vulnerable for the period of the website error, which lasted approximately 45 minutes. Of those tickets, Bethesda says "no more than 65" contained personal information. None of these tickets contained user account passwords or complete credit card numbers. However, the exposed data did include customer names, usernames, emails, addresses, and phone numbers if they were included by the customer in their support tickets. Tickets may also have included an image of the customers' proof of purchase, and thus partial credit card information.
Among Trees is a gorgeous sandbox adventure game coming in 2019
https://www.pcgamer.com/among-trees-is-a-gorgeous-sandbox-adventure-game-coming-in-2019/
I'm not sure I know what Among Trees is, but damn does it look gorgeous. Announced with a short trailer at The Game Awards 2018, Among Trees is a "survival sandbox adventure" set in a vibrantly colored woodland full of critters. The trailer didn't show much, beyond the striking art style, but the Among Trees website provides a bit more detail.

https://www.pcgamer.com/the-stanley-parable-ultra-deluxe-will-add-new-choices-and-endings/
The Stanley Parable isn't done with quite yet. As part of a console release announced at this year's Game Awards, the universally acclaimed comedy game about games will see new choices and new endings sometime in 2019, packaged in The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe. And yes, it's coming to PC too.

Dauntless heading to Epic Games store, aiming for crossplay across all platforms
https://www.pcgamer.com/dauntless-heading-to-epic-games-store-aiming-for-crossplay-across-all-platforms/
Dauntless, the free-to-play take on the big boy bashing genre popularized by Monster Hunter, will begin a new stage of life on Epic's new game store in April 2019. Announced at The Game Awards, the Epic Games store release will also coincide with the launch of Dauntless on Xbox One and PS4. Ordinarily, we wouldn't bother you with console news, but the multiplatform releases are part of a bigger vision, something the team at Phoenix Labs calls "One Dauntless".

https://www.pcgamer.com/hello-games-is-releasing-a-short-game-made-by-two-employees/
Today, Hello announced another new project, The Last Campfire, which it's calling a "Hello Games Short."
"Like Pixar shorts it’s a way to foster creativity and new voices in the studio," said studio head Sean Murray in an email to PC Gamer. "We started by making Joe Danger, before No Man's Sky, and we want to pay forward our success to give others the opportunity to do the same."

'The Block' will bring stuff from Fortnite's creative mode to battle royale
https://www.pcgamer.com/the-block-will-bring-stuff-from-fortnites-creative-mode-to-battle-royale/
The Block, a flat concrete lot, just replaced Risky Reels on Fortnite's battle royale map. But it won't always be a featureless void. Think back to the long forgotten age of this morning when Fortnite Season 7 and the new creative mode went live. The Block will be where the best player-made creations are put on display for everyone, so long as they make the cut.
Iris.Fall is a gorgeous puzzle game set inside a monochrome diorama
https://www.pcgamer.com/irisfall-is-a-gorgeous-puzzle-game-set-inside-a-monochrome-diorama/
Black cats get a bad rap, which is why they don’t get adopted as often as other cats, and now we’ve got one leading children into psychedelic gothic dioramas. I’ll try not to hold it against Iris.Fall, however, because gosh does it look lovely.
BATALJ is a 1v1 mix of XCOM's strategy and Overwatch's style

DICE co-founder Markus Nyström is among the members of Fall Damage, the studio behind the game. Check out the first full reveal trailer above, and try not to roll your eyes a bit at 'dominate the meta'.
