First of all, congrats on your purchase, I hope it gives you many hours of fun. What monitor are you looking for? If you can, try to get an IPS monitor (nowadays, there are a few that are quite cheap), to enjoy the better colours.

As for the comparison with your previous build... you win with your CPU, but lose with the GPU.

I was starting to figure that out more and more as I'm doing research.  Still trying to wrap my head around the numbers when trying to compare apples to oranges (processors by different manufacturers).  But if I understand correctly, the CPU is more important in this case when considering a GPU upgrade in the future.  Would this be the correct line of logic?  And I'm looking at buying this monitor:

Yes, if you're buying this PC with the idea of upgrading it in the future, choosing the right CPU is the best decission. But remember that for gaming, you'll usually profit more from a better GPU than a better CPU. But the CPU you've chosen is fine for at least one future GPU upgrade down the line, don't worry much.

As for comparison tools, although outdated, you can use the Anandtech bench tool to see individual benchmark results of CPUs and GPUs and compare two of them, and there's also the TechPowerUp database where you can see a comparison, in percentage, between a selected GPU and the rest of the database:

+Anandtech's CPU bench: https://www.anandtech.com/bench/CPU-2019/2224. Sadly, there's no R5 1400 in the database.

+Anandtech's GPU bench:https://www.anandtech.com/bench/GPU18/2294. This section of the bench is severely outdated, with no results for both the 570 nor the 1050Ti.

+TechPowerUp: https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/ Here you can see the specs for the 1050Ti, and check how the 570 would compare: https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/geforce-gtx-1050-ti.c2885

That monitor you've listed is a good choice and, with a FullHD resolution, you should be able to play most games at full detail with no problems.

Please excuse my bad English.
