Well that depends.  On Switch, most games run off of the cart which saves data on your SD card.  Even those with partial install will mean less data instaed on the card.  On Switch, there is very much an advantage.

 

However in terms of Switch, digital also has its advantages such as not having to swap carts on the go.

 

Now on PS4 or X1, they require install anyway.  However in areas with extremely slow internet, the install time would be faster off of the disk.  But with so many day one patches in this regard, your point holds up on these two consoles.
