SALES & DEALS

The Steam Autumn Sale has begun
https://www.pcgamer.com/steam-fall-sale-2018/
November is here, the leaves are falling, and the prices are too: The 2018 Steam Autumn Sale is now live.
The Autumn Sale also sees the return of the Steam Awards, the now-annual ritual in which users nominate games for recognition across a number of ill-described, vaguely-defined, and occasionally outright-bizarre categories—last year's awards gave us "Mom's Spaghetti" and "Whoooaaaaaaa, Dude! 2.0," for instance.
>> Go and buy new games that you'll never play... or don't. It's your money and you can do whatever you want with it. By the way, any suggestions on what games to nominate for the awards? I'm out of ideas.

Half-Life 2 Classic Ravenholm demo demake for the first Half-Life is available for download
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/half-life-2-classic-ravenholm-demo-demake-for-the-first-half-life-is-available-for-download/
In June, we shared some screenshots from the Half Life 2 demake for the first Half-Life, Half-Life 2 Classic. Created by Team Classic, this demake mod aims to recreate the entirety of Half-Life 2 in GoldSource Engine. And yesterday, the team has released a demo that you can download.
The team has been recreating demake models for all monsters and characters from scratch and the demo features new texture for normal zombies, making them wear citizen clothes instead of scientist ones, new sounds for weapons, footsteps, and more, new models/textures for weapons in the low-poly style of Half-Life 1, new “advanced” options to toggle weapon sway and change weapon fov (this will probably be used for more stuff later on), and allows zombies to be cut in half with sharp objects.
As its title suggests, this demo features the entire Ravenholm chapter from Half-Life 2, fully playable in Goldsrc as a Half-Life 1 mod, and those interested can download it from here.

New Dragon Ball Unreal demo released for Patreon backers
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/new-dragon-ball-unreal-demo-released-for-patreon-backers/
Back in June, we informed you about a new demo of the fan-made Dragon Ball game in Unreal Engine 4, Dragon Ball Unreal, that would be coming out shortly. Well, today we’ve got some good and some bad news for you DBZ fans. The good news is that a new demo has been released. The bad news is that the demo is currently behind a Patreon-wall.
This new demo is currently available to all Patreon backers and has not been released to the public yet. Moreover, we don’t know when – and if – Emudshit will release this latest demo of Dragon Ball Unreal to the public. As such, we won’t be covering this project anymore until the new demos become available to everyone.

Modder recreates Fallout 76's photomode in Fallout 4
https://www.pcgamer.com/modder-recreates-fallout-76s-photomode-in-fallout-4/
When I want to take nice screenshots in Fallout 4 I use console cheats: tfc to enable the freecam and tm to hide the UI. But modder extraordinaire registrator2000 is working on a far more elegant solution, a lovely photo mode for Fallout 4 based on the one from Fallout 76.
The mod isn't available for download yet, but it even the little bit we can currently see looks fantastic.

NieR Automata has not received a single patch on the PC but a GOTY Edition is coming out
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/nier-automata-has-not-received-a-single-patch-on-the-pc-but-a-goty-edition-is-coming-out/
While NieR: Automata sold quite well on the PC, it’s a game that could benefit from some patches. Surprisingly enough, Square Enix dropped the ball on this one and the game still suffers from mediocre PC controls (unless of course you’re playing with a gamepad but that’s not an excuse).
But anyway, according to ESRB there is a Game of the Year Edition, called NieR: Automata Game of the YoRHa Edition, coming out soon. My guess is that this Edition will simply include the DLCs that have been released and nothing more. So no, don’t expect any PC improvements or tweaks.
