E3 hasn't had importance or relevance since 2008, we had the WiiMusic debacle and both the game and platform not only went on to do well that year the platform itself had one of the best years any platform has had in history this showed that what happens during E3 and how the market performs are exclusive of each other hence why ever since Nintendo reduced their involvement with E3 other companies have followed suit. R* don't even bother with the event and haven't for years yet still had the biggest launch of all time in RDR2.

Fact is E3 went from being an important marketing event during the pre-streaming era before the likes of Youtube and Twitch to just becoming a passing day dream for forum goers and companies are catching on to the fact that they can do their events and streams at more strategic times and save money as well. Don't be surprised if all companies eventually have their own Nintendo Direct like approach in future.
