I think Warner Bros. provided a good disclaimer for their older cartoons that fits with this topic.

”The cartoons you are about to see are products of their times...While the following does not represent the Warner Bros. view of today’s society, these cartoons are being presented as they were originally created, because to do otherwise would be the same as claiming these prejudices never existed.”

If people are offended, then I cannot do much for them. It’s annoying but I’m not gonna ignore it. However, changing it now would only make me and others more ignorant of what happened back then. I’m sure Nintendo had no idea that the particular character from that Game & Watch would be portrayed in that fashion to some back in the day, but it happened and, thus far, they appeared to not have other issues besides the audio controversy in Ocarina of Time (I may have forgotten another example). This is all based on a game back in the 1980s.

In the end, there are some people who are too eager to pull the racism/sexism card. It’s the unfortunate part that society is dealing with today. I’m not saying that there is no racism or sexism in the world, because it’s ignorant to say that, but I would appreciate context before judging.
